Local and regional governments and ICLEI

Local and regional governments across the ICLEI network are committed to building a sustainable urban future.

The ICLEI network

Local and regional governments across the ICLEI network represent a diversity of cities, towns and regions. Collectively, they form a dynamic force advancing sustainable urban development worldwide.

The ICLEI Network is made up of our Members, who serve in governance roles, elect our leadership, and engage in ICLEI’s activities, advocacy and mission, and ICLEI Network cities and regions, which are local governments actively engaged in ICLEI activities. You can search for these activities in the Activities Database.

Our growing network reaches:

  • 1750+

    cities, towns and regions

  • 126

    countries worldwide

  • 25+

percent of the global urban population

  • 20+
